Co-developed with BC youth, this workshop was designed to engage youth in discussions based on the findings from the 2025 report, From loot boxes to lottery tickets: Gaming & gambling among BC youth aged 12–18.
Through interactive and engaging activities, this workshop encourages young people to explore the beliefs and assumptions they may have about gaming and gambling, and the role that gaming and gambling might play in their life. Youth will also discuss how to recognize when participation in these activities may be having a negative impact on their health and well-being, and come up with strategies to set healthy limits on their gaming or gambling.
This workshop can be facilitated with any youth aged 12–19 in BC, especially young people who may regularly engage in gaming or gambling activities.
The workshop is facilitated by trained McCreary staff and it free of charge, including all workshop and participant materials. It is designed to take about 1.5–2 hours, and can be hosted online or in person, anywhere in BC.
McCreary also provides training for any teacher, youth worker, nurse, or other adult support who would like to facilitate the workshop with young people in their school or community.
